Why this exists
Cities already contain thousands of useful third places, but the information people need is scattered across maps, municipal pages, and word of mouth. Free options such as libraries, parks, community centres, beaches, rinks, and public facilities can be especially hard to find.
ShowMeThirdPlaces brings those places into one map and focuses on practical questions: Can I stay awhile? Is there Wi‑Fi? Can I bring children? Is it easy to meet people? Does an official source actually say access is free? We would rather leave a question unanswered than turn a category assumption into a fact.
Anyone can explore and share a first-hand observation without an account. Email accounts let people save across devices, rate overall third-place fit, write reviews, and contribute tips.

Frequently asked questions
What is a third place?
A third place is somewhere between home and work where people can spend time, study, work, gather, or unwind. This directory includes cafes, libraries, parks, coworking spaces, bookstores, and community centres.
Do I need an account?
No account is needed to explore, save places in this browser, or share eligible place observations. An email account is required for fit ratings, reviews, tips, and photo uploads.
Where does the place information come from?
Published details retain their provenance and can come from sources such as OpenStreetMap, manual review, and genuine visitor observations. Read the data-sources overview.
How can I correct a listing?
Open a place and use its correction or closure-report controls. First-hand attribute observations remain separate from imported and editorial evidence.
Where are saved places stored?
The current Save control stores places privately in this browser. Clearing browser storage removes that local list.
