Terms of Service

The service

ShowMeThirdPlaces is a community directory for finding places and activities. Information may come from public, licensed, official, and community sources. The service may change, be interrupted, or be discontinued.

Eligibility and accounts

• You must be at least 14 to create or use your own account or guest contribution identity.
• A parent or legal guardian may use their own account or browser identity to contribute for a younger person. Do not create an account in a child’s name or submit a child’s identifying information.
• Provide accurate account information, protect your credentials, and tell us promptly about suspected unauthorized use.

Contributions

Contributions include observations, ratings, reviews, tips, photos, place and activity submissions, and correction or safety reports. You remain responsible for what you submit and must have the rights needed to submit it.

You retain ownership. You grant 17988117 CANADA CORP. a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free and sublicensable licence to host, store, reproduce, adapt for formatting or moderation, publish, display, distribute, and otherwise use your Contributions to operate, improve, protect, and promote the service. The licence ends when the Contribution is deleted, except for reasonable backups, legal records, and material already shared as part of the community record.

Structured observations and numerical ratings may appear immediately. Free-text reviews, tips, photos, and new listing or activity submissions may remain private until moderation. We may reject, remove, de-identify, or limit content and may suspend accounts to enforce these Terms or protect users.

Acceptable use

• Do not submit false, deceptive, defamatory, harassing, hateful, exploitative, infringing, or unlawful material.
• Do not expose personal or sensitive information, impersonate others, manipulate ratings, post spam, or use the service for advertising without permission.
• Do not scrape or bulk-download the service, bypass rate limits, probe for vulnerabilities without written authorization, disrupt the service, or gain unauthorized access.

Third-party and community information

Place and activity information may be incomplete, stale, or wrong. Verify hours, accessibility, eligibility, safety, registration, and other important facts directly with the operator or organizer before relying on them.

OpenStreetMap data is © OpenStreetMap contributors and used under the Open Database License. Yelp business identifiers may be used privately for matching. Community ratings are collected independently and are not Yelp ratings. Listings do not imply endorsement or affiliation.

Intellectual property and copyright

The service software, design, branding, and original material belong to 17988117 CANADA CORP. or its licensors. Use the Copyright page to report claimed infringement. We maintain and reasonably implement a policy to terminate repeat infringers in appropriate circumstances and accommodate standard technical measures as required by applicable law.

No warranties

The service is provided “as is” and “as available.” To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim express and implied warranties, including accuracy, availability, merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. Nothing excludes a mandatory warranty or consumer right that cannot lawfully be excluded.

Limits on liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, 17988117 CANADA CORP. and its directors, officers, employees, and service providers will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or loss of data, goodwill, revenue, or profits arising from the service. These limits do not apply where prohibited by law or to liability that cannot legally be limited.

Indemnity

To the extent permitted by law, you will defend and indemnify 17988117 CANADA CORP. from third-party claims and reasonable costs arising from your Contributions, unlawful use, or violation of another person’s rights. This does not apply to the extent a claim was caused by our own conduct.

Termination

You may stop using the service and delete your account. We may restrict, suspend, or terminate access for violations, risk, legal requirements, or discontinuation. Provisions intended by their nature to survive will survive.

Governing law

Ontario law and applicable Canadian federal law govern these Terms. Subject to mandatory rights to bring a claim elsewhere, the courts of Ontario have exclusive jurisdiction. These Terms do not require arbitration.
